Export Contour Lines from 2DH
EEMS has the capability to plot 2DH contour lines for any simulated parameters at any time step. The contour option is enabled by selecting the layer for which the user wants to draw contour lines. To export a contour line from 2DH to a file, it is first required to display that layer on 2DH using the Add New Model Layer function on 2DH, or export from the default layer on 2DH. For example in this case the case below, the Bottom Elevation has been selected. RMC on the Bottom Elevation layer, then select Properties. When Properties is selected the Layer Properties form is displayed as shown in Export Contour Lines from 2DH#Figure 1.

Check on the Show Contours box to show the value contours of the layer. When this dialog box is selected, default contour lines will be drawn based on the maximum and minimum values of this layer. Click the OK button to see these default contour lines displayed on the 2DH, as shown in Export Contour Lines from 2DH#Figure 2.

If the user wants to set the contour lines according to their wishes, LMC to the Setting button in the form in Export Contour Lines from 2DH#Figure 1. The Contour Settings window will be displayed as shown in the Export Contour Lines from 2DH#Figure 3, Uncheck the Automatic Range box in the Contour Range frame,. Then set the desired values for in/max as well as the interval for contour lines. LMC on OK to see the contour lines just set on 2DH.

After the contour range has been set, click the Export button as shown in Export Contour Lines from 2DH#Figure 1 to export the contour line to *.p2d file format. Select the path and enter the file name, and click the Save button as shown in the Export Contour Lines from 2DH#Figure 4, Now the contour line has been saved to the file.

The structure of the newly exported contour file is shown in Export Contour Lines from 2DH#Figure 5. Each contour line will be represented by the first line being the line name along with the value of that contour line, the following rows are the coordinates of the X, Y points according to UTM, and the third column is the value of the contour line which is terminated by *.

By using the Add New Model Layer function on 2DH, users can load the newly exported contour file into 2DH, as shown in Export Contour Lines from 2DH#Figure 6.
