Model Grid
The Model Grid is a section in the Layer Control. It includes Grid and Layers. Left-mouse click the Model Grid, it will provide a summary of the Model Domain, as shown in Figure 1. It specifies the horizontal grid type and structure, determining how the model domain is discretized into computational cells across rows and columns. The vertical configuration is also defined here, including the type of layering scheme and the number of water and sediment layers used to represent the water column in three dimensions. In addition, the Model Grid provides key geometric and geographic information about the domain, such as the coordinate system, total model area, spatial dimensions, and the centroid location in both projected and geographic coordinates. Together, these settings ensure that the model accurately represents the physical extent and resolution of the study area, directly influencing the precision and computational performance of the simulation.
