Spline Layer: RMC Options
Each spline layer has a range of options that may be accessed by RMC on the spline layer title in the tree view (Figure 1). These options are summarized in the Table 1.
Figure 1. Spline layer: RMC options.
Table 1. RMC options for spline layer.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Properties | Set properties of the selected layer (described in detail below) |
Create Grid | Generate grid from the selected spline layer (described in detail below) |
Zoom to Layer | Zoom the view to the selected layer |
Export Control Points To | Export the spline layer to an external file |
Remove | Delete the selected layer |
Create New Spline Layer | Create a new spline layer in the layer control panel |
Create New Overlay Layer | Create a new overlay layer in the layer control panel |
Turn All Layers Off | Hide all existing layers in the layer control panel |
Turn All Layers On | Display all existing layers in the layer control panel |
Spline Properties
RMC on the spline layer, then select Properties, and the Spline Properties will be displayed, as shown in Figure 2. The options here include:
- Layer Name: shows the name of the layer, a new name can be entered here
- Layer Visible: unchecking this box will hide the spline layer (the light bulb of the layer in the Control Panel is also turned off)
- Line Settings: allows the changing of setting style, color, and thickness of the spline lines.

Create Grid
This option only appears from the RMC option when it meets the condition to generate a grid (i.e.at least four splines are crossing). After selecting the Create Grid option, the Create Grid from Splines form is displayed as shown in Figure 3. Define the number of intervals in the I and J direction then click the OK button, a grid will be generated. The Create Grid also can be accessed from a button from the main toolbar as shown in Figure 4.

Export Control Points To
The Export Control Points to option allows the saving of the spline to a file. Once selecting the Export Control Points to option, the Save As form will be displayed, as shown in Figure 5. Define the file type (*.spl is the default extension for spline) then enter a file name. Define the folder location to locate the file then click the Save button.
