Terms and Abbreviations

The following is a description of common terms and abbreviations used in this report.

Orthogonality	A measure of how perpendicular grid cells are, 90^o is optimal.
Orthogonal Deviation	The deviation angle away from 90^o.
Orthogonalize	The act of "improving" a grid so that its grid lines are more perpendicular.
Refine	Increasing the cell resolution of the grid.
Coarsen	Decreasing the cell resolution of the grid.
Regularize	Applies uniform spacing between grid cells.
Telescoping	Regularize the grid with uneven spacing between grid cells.
Global	Modifications are made to the entire grid.
Local	Modifications are made to a user-specified area only.
Spline	A line that is used to define the boundaries of a grid, four splines are required to generate a grid.
Polyline	The P2D shape file that the user uploads into CVLGrid, usually to serve as an outline to draw the splines.
CVL	Curvilinear, referring to the grid
LMC	Left mouse click
RMC	Right mouse click
