Data Format B-9 Digital Sediment Model Format for Sediment Cores with Grain Sizes
The "Sediment Cores with Grainsize" Digital Sediment Model (DSM) format is a file that contains any number of cores. Each core can have any number of samples at depths below the top of the core. For each core, the user must locate the core in horizontal (XY) space. The "Z" requested is the top of the core elevation (i.e., the bed surface elevation at the core location).

- Line 1: Data file title
- Line 2: Used to determine the data file format
- Line 3: Number of sediment cores
- Line 4: Core 1 location
(X coordinate Y coordinate Elevation Number of layers Core1 ID)
- Line 5: Bed properties of layer 1/core 1
(Layer thickness Bed porosity Specified Gravity Number of grain size distribution)
- Line 6: Grain size distribution of layer 1/core 1
- Line 7: Accumulate percent corresponding to each grain size of layer 1/core1
- Line 8-16: Repeat bed properties of layers 2, 3 &4/core 1
