The grid extraction option allows to extract a partial grid from the selected existing grid in the Layer Control panel. This option can be implemented by a selected grid block or a polyline overlaid on the selected grid.
Extract grid from a selected grid block
- Select the grid layer in the Layer Control by LMC
- From main toolbar, select the Select object button then select a grid node, hold Shift key and select the second grid node. The grid block will be highlighted as shown Extract Grid.
- Next, RMC then select Extract Grid Block option, after that a new grid layer will be created in the Layer Control as Extract Grid.

Extract grid from a selected polygon
- Select the Add a New Polyline from the main toolbar
- Start drawing a polygon which overlays a grid in the workplace (LMC to start and RMC to end drawing)
- From main toolbar, select the Select object button then click on the polygon. It will be highlighted as shown Extract Grid.
- Next, select the grid layer in the Layer Control by LMC on that grid layer
- Then RMC on the workplace to show RMC's options, select Extract Grid Inside the Selected Polygon option, after that a new grid layer will be created in the Layer Control as Extract Grid.
