The Create a radial grid button in the main toolbar is shown as Figure 1.
Figure 1. Create a radial grid.
Once click that button, the Radial Grid form will pop up as shown in Figure 2.
Grid Cell in I Direction frame
- Start Angle (deg.): This is the angle in degrees where the grid cell begins.
- Stop Angle (deg.): This is the angle in degrees where the grid cell ends.
- Angle Increment (deg): the increasing angle in each step.
Grid Cell in J Direction frame
- Min. Radius (m): the radius of the curve inside in meters
- Max. Radius (m): The radius of the curve outside in meters
- Aspect Ratio:
- UTM Zone: this is the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) zone, the user can enter the zone number, from 1 to 60. When the user enters the location of the focal point the UTM zone can be updated automatically
- Location of Focal Point: the longitude and latitude of the center point in the geographic coordinate system
Figure 3 presented the generated radial grid. When the grid layer in the layer control is selected, the user can hold the focal point to move the grid cell. The side point is used to expand or narrow the grid cell along the side.Figure 4 shows the grid cell after expanding, cells are added have the same size as the previous cells.
