The following steps introduce how to create Creating a grid is a straightforward process. The important principle is that for each grid, at least four splines are needed. The splines should intersect each other at only point and the splines in the same orientation should not intersect each other. Follow these steps to create a simple grid:
- From the Splines menu, select Draw a New Spline or click on the Add a new spline button from the main menutoolbar (1149927666).
- LMC to start drawing a spline, and RMC to end drawing the spline. Two first splines need to be done.Next, keep using the drawing splines mode, LMC on the first node of the first spline then RMC on the first node of the second Draw a second spline close to parallel to the first spline.
- Next, LMC on the second node of the first spline then RMC on the second node of the second spline.
- Result is a closed splines created from four splines.
- Next, select the Select object button from main toolbar, LMC on inside the splines, then splines will be highlighted (turn into red)
- From the Splines menu, select Create Grid from Splines or click on the Create draw two more splines along each end of the domain. These two splines must intersect the previous two splines (1149927666)
- RMC on the Splines layer in the Layer Control panel, then select the Create Grid option or click on the Create Grid from Splines button from main menuthe main toolbar, as shown in 1149927666
- Create Grid from Splines form will pop up as shown in 1149927666. From this form, the number of grid cells between two splines needs to be defined by entering a number of cells in the I and J directions (default values are 4). 1149927666 shows an example of the grid generated.

You can control the intensity of the grid for each region by dividing the computational domain into subregions between splines. It is faster for grid generation if all splines in the same orientation have the same directions. |
