The Spline Overlay layer has a range of special options that are accessed by RMC on the spline overlay title in the tree view (2123727100Figure 1). These options are summarized in the 2123727100 Table 1.

Overlay Properties
RMC on the spline overlay layer, then select Properties, and the Spline Overlay Properties will be displayed, as shown in Figure 2. The options here include:
- Layer Name: show the name of the layer, a new name can be entered here
- Layer Visible: unchecking this box will hide the spline overlay layer (the light bulb of the layer in the Control Panel is also turned off)
- Show in
- Selectable
- Editable
- Show Lines: unchecking this box will hide the spline overlay lines
- Line Settings: allows the changing of setting style, color, and thickness of the spline lines.

Create Grid
This option only appears from the RMC's option when it meets the condition to generate a grid (there are four splines at least crossing). After selecting Create Grid option, the Create Grid from Splines form is displayed as shown in 2123727100, define the number of intervals in the I and J direction then click the OK button, a grid will be generated. The Create Grid also can be accessed from a button from the main toolbar as shown in 2123727100.

Save As
The Save As option allows the saving of the spline overlay to a file. Once selecting the Export Control Points to the Save As option, the Save As form will be displayed, as shown in 2123727100 Figure 6. Define the file type (*.spl p2d is the default extension for splineoverlay) then enter a file name. Define the folder location to locate the file then click the Save button.
