The Layer Control toolbox, shown in Figure 1, provides the user with a number of options for importing, exporting, selecting and manipulating the layers such as , including grids, splines and overlays as described below.

Show/Hide | Makes the layer visible or hidden. When the the box is checked the layer is visible |
Legend | For the layer selected this option will show or hide that layer label on the legend. If box is checked then the legend is visible. |
Import | Imports a polyline files or GRD file. Also loads CVL grid file. |
Export | Opens a browser window to choose a location to save the selected layer. Options include the following extensions CVL, GRD, P2D, KML, P2D LDB, SHP, LDB, ECOMSED, SEAGRID, CH3D. This option allows the user to export a grid to a third party applications such as DELFT3D or other modeling tools. |
New | Creates a new layer |
Delete | Deletes the selected layer |
Rename | Renames the selected layer |
Format | Changes the color, symbol and line type of the lines on layer |
Combine | Combines selected layers into one, this function only applied for splines and overlay layers. |
View | View the selected layer |
