Sometimes moving grid nodes is necessary while making a grid. This section introduces how to move a single node or a set of nodes
Move single grid node
To move a node, click down on it- Select a grid layer in the Layer Control;
- Select theĀ Mode nodeĀ button from the main toolbar, the cursor changes to a hand symbol (Figure 1);
- Click down on a node, drag it to
- a new position, and then release the mouse button.
- To escape this mode, press the S key.

Fit to nearest spline
Suppose Imagine that there is a number of cells that are far from a spline near the grid, now we want to move the edge grid nodes on a grid line segment to that spline, as shown in Figure 1. First, select the shoreline. The Fit to nearest spline option can be used to move them forward to the shoreline.
- Select Add a new spline to draw a spline;
- LMC on the selected grid layer, hold the Shift then LMC on two edge grid nodes on the same grid line segment, the segment will be highlighted (its color is purple), LMC on the third grid node to define the impacted area. Next, RMC to show options and then select Fit to Nearest Spline option, as shown in Figure 1.
- As a result, a set of nodes fit the spline as shown in Figure 2.

Fit to nearest land boundary
Suppose that there is a land boundary line (overlay) near the grid, now we want to move the edge grid nodes on a grid line segment to that land boundary, as shown in Figure 3. First, select the grid layer, hold the Shift then LMC on two edge grid nodes on the same grid line segment, the segment will be highlighted (its color is purple), LMC on the third grid node to define the impacted area. Next, RMC to show options then select Fit to Nearest Land Boundary option. Figure 4 shows grid after selecting This option operates similar to the Fit to Nearest Spline option that is described above. The difference is instead of drawing a spline, do draw a polyline. Figure 3 shows the Fit to Nearest Land Boundary option.
