The grid extraction option allows to extract a partial grid from the selected existing grid in the Layer Control panel. This option can be implemented by a selected grid block or a polyline overlaid on the selected grid.

Extract grid from a selected grid block


  1. LMC on a Select the grid layer in the Layer Control panelSelect Select Object mode from the main toolbar to display a number of options for to turn on/off the layers as shown in by LMC
  2. From main toolbar, select the Select object button then select a grid node, hold Shift key and select the second grid node. The grid block will be highlighted as shown Extract Grid.

  1. Next, RMC then select Extract Grid Block option, after that a new grid layer will be created in the Layer Control

Extract grid from a selected polygon

  1. Select the Add a New Polyline from the main toolbar
  2. Start drawing a polygon which overlays a grid in the workplace (LMC to start and RMC to end drawing)
  3. From main toolbar, select the Select object button then click on the polygon. It will be highlighted as shown Extract Grid.
  4. Next, select the grid layer in the Layer Control by LMC on that grid layer
  5. Then RMC on the workplace to show RMC's options, select Extract Grid Inside the Selected Polygon option, after that a new grid layer will be created in the Layer Control
