The Refine grid option increases the Coarsen Grid option operates in an opposite way to that for Refine Grid. It decreases resolution of the grid. It operates by multiplying dividing the existing number of cells in the current grid with (IC, JC) I, J directions independently. There are two types for coarsening grid refinement types:
Refine Coarsen grid with a selected grid segment
- LMC on the grid layer in the Layer Control to select grid the user want to refinecoarsen
- Select Select object button from the main toolbar
- LMC on a grid node then hold Shift key, LMC on the second node on same grid segment in I or J direction, the segment will be highlighted as shown in 1154547744 Figure 1.
- From Grid menu, select Refine Coarsen Grid option (or select Refine Coarsen Grid button from the main toolbar), the Grid Block RefinementCoarsening form will be popup as shown in 1154547744 Figure 2. The user needs to enter the Refinement Coarsening Factor then click OK button. 1154547744 Figure 3 show examples for grid refinement with coarsening a selected grid segment.

Refine Coarsen grid with a selected grid block
- LMC on the grid layer in the Layer Control to select grid the user want to refine

- LMC on a grid node then hold Shift key, LMC on the second node , this node which is not on same grid segment in I or J direction, the grid block will be highlighted as shown in 1154547744 Figure 4.
- From Grid menu, select Refine Coarsen Grid option (or select Refine Coarsen Grid button from the main toolbar), the Grid Block RefinementCoarsening form will be popup as shown in 1154547744 Figure 5. The user needs to enter the Refinement Coarsening Factor then click OK button. 1154547744 Figure 6 show examples for grid refinement coarsening with a selected grid block.
