Roughness

The Roughness tab provides the options for configuring the initial bottom roughness.  EEMS10 supports an enhanced approach for calculating the drag coefficient. While the user still has the option of setting the EFDC+ 8.x and Legacy EFDC Versions options from the drop-down menu as shown in Figure 1, it is recommended that the EFDC+ 10 and Greater option approach supported by the theory is better.

The user is able to assign the initial conditions for the bottom roughness parameters when the Assign button is pressed. The Apply Cell Properties via Polygons: Bottom Roughness form is displayed with appropriate options for that parameter as shown in Figure 2 .
