ChemFate Visualization
In a sediment model with the chemical fate module activated, chemicals are present in both the water column and sediment bed. This means there are two ways to view contaminants in 2DH View. They are as water column contaminants and as sediment bed contaminants. From the 2DH View Option form, select Chemical Fate and Transport for Primary Group, then select Water Column Contaminants or Sediment Bed Contaminants for Parameter as shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1. Add Chemical Fate and Transport Layer in 2DH View.
Next, in the Layer Settings frame, select an option for the Options by clicking the drop-down list.
The options for Water Column Contaminants include Depth Average, Bottom layer, By Layer.
The options for Sediment Bed Contaminants include All layer, Top layer, By layer, Fixed Depth and Depth Averaged.
Next, in the Class Settings frame, select a contaminant class. If the Total box is checked, the total of all contaminants defined in the model will be displayed. Click the drop-down arrow for the Options to show a list of sub-options. These include Total, Dissolved, DOC Complexed, POC Bound, DOC, POC, FOC (Fraction of Organic Carbon), and Dissolved + DOC Complexed. Select one of these, then click the Apply button. The 2DH View Option form will close, and as a result, the selected contaminant in the 2DH View will be updated as shown in Figure 3.
